Ross-shire Writers

creative writing, coffee and cake…

Viv Spreadborough

I have lived in Invergordon for the last thirty five years with my husband. Our two sons have now, quite wisely, deserted us. For much of this time I worked at the County Hospital as a nurse. In the past I have written mainly short stories and a travel blog. I have started writing again recently after a long break and am enjoying it immensely.

The Search For Paris Pink

She looks down and she can hardly believe it. She had thought it would be with her always. But now the horrible truth dawns. Paris Pink has gone.

The assistant at the chemist had tried to warn her. 'They've stopped making that shade of lipstick now' she'd said.'Perhaps a darker shade would suit you better. The Coral is very popular or Venetian Rose perhaps?'

She obviously had no idea.

Paris Pink is the colour that smiles in the morning, the colour that sings in the shower. Paris Pink runs swiftly, tires slowly, laughs in the face of danger. And then one day it is gone, leaving only a vague uncertain memory.

Believing this to be a temporary blip she decides to look for it again.

Time passes.

The search for Paris Pink continues.
